The history of alfa began on the 1950s from the city of Kozani, a city distinguished by its hospitality and gastronomy based on traditional recipes and the freshest ingredients of the Greek land.

Nowadays, alfa occupies a dominant position in the Greek food market with 50 regional distributors and 11.000 points of sale.alfa is active in retail (supermarkets, etc.) as well as foodservice (bakeries, pastry shops, cafes, mass catering establishments and hotels). At the same time, company’s exports grow rapidly and expand to Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia. In parallel with this, alfa’s production plant, always adhering to the strictest international quality and safety standards ISO: 9001-2008, HACCP, IFS, BRC, is one of the most modern production plants in Europe.

It is the policy of alfa to ensure the safety and hygiene of its products with the application and control of all related procedures for raw materials, production and control of product safety until delivery and the subsequent customer service as well as to meet the requirements of food law regarding to product hygiene and safety through the implementation of ISO22000:2005, BRC (British Retail Consortium), IFS (International Food Standard) and HALAL requirements. It is the policy of the company as well to produce and supply yeast products fully in accordance with the evolving requirements of its customers by applying processes that, in addition,have the minimum effect on the environment and hygiene and safety of the employees. 

Alfa, with full respect for consumers, uses the freshest ingredients of the Greek land (such as olive oil, feta cheese, vegetables), which are of a high nutritious value.
